Cubic Hermite Basis Functions

Your browser cannot run Java - try Netscape 4.*

For those who never really get to play with cubic hermite basis functions, here is your chance. This simple applet interpolates a field between the nodes (shown in blue) based on the node positions and the field derivatives at the nodes (determined by the control points, in red). The nodes and control points can be moved by clicking and dragging, and the field will be updated. The effect of the control points is to set a normalised derivative at the nodes.

The applet relies on a single class - "HermiteBFApplet" - get the source here.
